ZoukOut begun exactly 13 years ago in the year 2000. The first time I’d ever been there was on their 10th anniversary. Headliners were Tiesto, and Guetta, with Afrojack, Hardwell, Dennis Ferrer, Laidback Luke, Seth Troxler…whuuut. With such great line ups, I’m not surprised they’ve managed to pull such big crowds since they started. 26,000 party goers crowded the tiny island in 2008. But that’s that, and it’s time to get excited for this year’s party.
Afrojack, Ferry Corsten, Zedd, Seth Troxler, Danny Avila, Dash Berlin, Otto Knows and more and more (!!) will be returning/debuting at ZoukOut. And I’m actually just as excited to see all the Zouk Resident DJs and our local talents spinning again. Pretty nostalgic. And it’ll be brilliant to just pack up and get away on a beach, during winter in Shanghai. Yes, I’d be jealous of me too, if I wasn’t me.
We did learn some important lessons from the last one we went though. As Sentosa is an island off an island (Singapore), it is near impossible to get transportation out when the party’s over. Most people arrange transport beforehand. But from experience, finding the driver and transport you booked in advance might be a big challenge in itself. Three years back, we’d book a van for 8 friends and we almost walked off the island ourselves. This time, we’re smarter and booked the hotel room way in advance before the price hikes. Yay, us.
Beginning of last year, it’s also two nights of thumping music instead of one now. Full line up has been announced on their main site: www.zoukout.com/line-up
Where: Siloso Beach, Sentosa
Tickets on site: www.zoukout.com/ticketing-info
(Earlybird tickets begin from S$88)
